Read our Review of Whiteout
(Dr. Fury, who is much older, is about to board his airplane when he asks Delfy, "Are you old enough to fly this thing?") "I certainly hope so. Try not to have a heart attack on my plane, Junior."
- Delfy,
Whiteout
(talking to Robert Pryce about their military experiences in the desert) "Well, my friend, it looks like we just traded one desert for another but one a hell of a lot colder."
- Delfy,
Whiteout
(out in the Antarctic cold teaching his men about the dangers around them) "In three days we begin the winter over. The sky turns black and stays that way for half a year. Now nature did not intend for you to survive out here, yet here you are and here I am, to teach you how not to die...One great hazard out here is whiteout, an unholy set of weather conditions that converge and the world falls away. Winds over a hundred miles an hour skip off the ice into the air kicking up snow so thick that you can't see six inches in front of your face. You can loose yourself completely out there. Never underestimate the ice."
- Dr. John Fury,
Whiteout
(examining Carrie's frost bitten fingers) "I'm going to have to amputate these fingers."
- Dr. John Fury,
Whiteout
(speaking to Carrie Stetko for the last time) "The aurora australis is pretty special this time of the year. You haven't really watched it, have you? I'd like to see it one last time. You owe it to yourself to see it sometime, it's a hell of a show."
- Dr. John Fury,
Whiteout
(he tries to pep up Carrie Stetko after she tells him her history and how she wound up in Antarctica) "From what I've seen, you haven't missed a beat. And if you had really given up on yourself you would have turned in your badge a long time ago. So you come down here to the worst marshall's post on the planet to what, puninsh yourself? OK, well you've done that but you are better than that. I think you know that."
- Robert Pryce,
