At the Movies with Fatwayne

I would call this a “sleeper” in that it is not widely known and the word of mouth has not gotten around yet. I found it to be a very entertaining movie and much more that I expected. Andy Garcia as Vince Rizzo is quite captivating as the prison guard/husband with lots of secrets that he keeps from his family. The problem is that his family also has their share of secrets that they are not about to share with Vince. This is where the fun comes in as each family member tries to live out their fantasies without giving away their secrets to the others. This in a nutshell is the plot of this movie.

The Rizzo family consists of Vince, his wife Joyce (Julianna Margulies) their daughter Vivian (Doninik Garcia-Lorida) and son Vince, Jr. (Ezra Miller). There is also a surprise son from years gone by who Vince rescues from jail and who proves to be his son from a long ago affair. This man is Tony Nardella (Steven Strait) who does not realize that Vince is his father. Like I said, SECRETS!

It is fun to watch these family members as they go about deceiving each other and desperately trying to his their secrets from one another. And these secrets are all rather ho hum such as smoking, acting classes and fascination with a 300-pound woman on the Internet.

The whole movie is captivating but the last 20 minutes or so absolutely sells the movie as everyone’s secrets come to light. I am happy to report that all ends well which is exactly what I enjoy in a movie. Just call me a “softy”!

Keep an eye out for Ezra Miller (Vince, Jr.). He is a hoot and could be said to have stole the acting rights for this movie if it were not for Andy Garcia. He has a fetish for fat girls and you just have to love his performance.

I have to tell you that this is one entertaining movie and I am hopeful that you do not feel that I have steered you in the wrong direction. If I have, let me hear from you and we can hash it out!
