(introducing us to the movie) "You ask me about my worst secret? My most personal secret. My secret of all my secrets. But first, I'm Vince Rizzo and I want to begin by telling you about where I live. City Island is a fishing village located in the Bronx, New York. Now City Island is distinct from the rest of the Bronx by virtue of being located on it's own two lane street right in the middle of the sound. Most people don't believe it until they see it." - Vince Rizzo, City Island
(explaining the two distinct residence types on City Island) "There are the mussel suckers verses the clam diggers. The mussel sucker is an island resident who comes from somewhere else. The clam diggers, like myself, are born and bred on City Island, preferably the same house that has been handed down through generations. In short, the world can be divided between clam diggers and mussel suckers, those who stay and those who wander." - Vince Rizzo, City Island
(responding to his wife, Joyce, when she accuses him of being unfaithful) "Well, you know what? I don't give a s**t if you don't believe me, in fact, I don't give two s**ts if you don't believe me because you've got a few things to answer for yourself." - Vince Rizzo, City Island
(arguing with his son Tony about his mother and his motivations ) "Whatever I did, I did on my own. Nobody put me up to anything. Your mother, your mother was a god damn psycho bitch and that's why I walked out on her before you were born." - Vince Rizzo, City Island
(telling Joyce why he didn't tell her all of his secrets after Joyce says, 'I thought you were just sick of me.') "Sick of you? No, I was scared of you maybe but not sick of you." - Vince Rizzo, City Island
(summing up the movie) "Me, I was lucky because God, he has a way of busting you when you most need it and he has a way of giving you a second chance to atone for your screwups, and I got my second chance." - Vince Rizzo, City Island
