(after Darren Shan asks him to save his friend Steve) "I'll make you a bargain. You'll become my assistant. I'll turn you into a half vampire, you'll be able to go out into the daylight, very useful to me. You'll do chores for me and guard my coffin on the road and in return, I'll try to keep Mr. Tiny away from you. Oh, and I'll save your stupid friend Steve despite the fact that he threatened to kill me."

(answering Darren Shan's question whether he will have to kill humans if he becomes a vampire) "Interesting, vampires don't kill people they feed on, Vampaneze do. Big source of controversy, war for about eighty years then a truce and now getting ugly again apparently. Time's wasting! You want to become a vampire? It's a lonely life but there's lots of it."
